Simon Depardon is a French director, producer, and photographer. In 2019, he produced and co-directed his first feature film, Retiens Johnny. Since then, he has focused on documentary cinema. In 2022, he co-directed Riposte Féministe, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was released in theaters on November 9th.

He often begins his projects through photography. Each series serves as a space for formal exploration, allowing him to refine his visual language and test ideas that later carry over into his films. His work is rooted in a documentary approach, capturing everyday life and revealing a quiet intensity within the ordinary.

In 2024, he exhibited a series of portraits of Olympic and Paralympic athletes as part of Art dans la Ville, in collaboration with the City of Paris.
