Simon Depardon is a French director, cinematographer, producer, and photographer. In 2019, he produced and co-directed his first feature film, Retiens Johnny. Focused on documentary cinema, he co-directed Riposte Féministe, which premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and was released in theaters on November 9th.
Born in 1991 in Paris, Simon is also recognized for his photography, capturing the everyday life of people and their surroundings. His images, grounded in a documentary approach, aim to reveal the profound essence of his subjects and timelessness in the ordinary. His work is often built on stories from his field investigations, creating a narrative thread through each series.
He recently exhibited portraits of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic athletes with "Art dans la Ville" and in collaboration with the City of Paris.
